‘Appy Days!  It’s been awhile since we wrote about an exciting new app, so what better way to bring back Appy Tuesday than with an Irish app that will make every traveler’s life just that much easier?!

Ryanair, Ireland’s famous budget airline, is also notorious for expensive fees associated with forgotten boarding passes, misspelled names, and overweight luggage.  Although the airline is usually the cheapest way to fly around Europe, many travelers have a difficult time remembering or adhering to Ryanair policies, and end up paying hefty fines for trivial offenses.

Worry no more, weary Ryanair traveler!  The new Ryanair app, available on both the Apple and Google Play Stores, can help you avoid many unnecessary fees.  The app allows Ryanair members to login to their profiles, search all available routes, manage previous bookings and make new ones, and digitally download boarding cards, eliminating the need to print one prior to the flight.

It also redirects members to the Ryanair mobile site to book hotels or rental cars at their destination, as well as choose and pay for the exact seat they want on the flight or the number of extra bags they need to check before they get to the gate.  Not only is the user interface easy to navigate, but the design is sleek and unique, even including a loading screen that features a Ryanair plane as the cursor.

Unlike the Aer Lingus app, which still requires users to check in and receive a printed boarding pass at the airport desk, the Ryanair app is the first in Ireland to use digital boarding cards.  So, you may still have to pay that €60 overweight baggage fee, but at least you can avoid the cost of reprinting a misplaced boarding card!
